Working principle of air compressor safety valve

When the pressure of the medium inside the air compressor or pipeline exceeds the specified value, the medium will be discharged from the system through a special valve to prevent the pipeline or equipment pressure from exceeding the specified value. When the control pressure does not exceed the specified value, it plays a crucial role in protecting the air compressor's operation and personal safety.

Air compressor safety valve function

Ensure the safe use of pressure pipelines and pressure vessels. To ensure the proper functioning of the safety valve and extend its service life, users should regularly check for leaks, observe phenomena such as jamming or spring corrosion, and adjust screws and lock nuts, tightening them if loose. If any problems are found, appropriate maintenance measures should be taken promptly. The safety valve should also be regularly disassembled for thorough cleaning, inspection, and regrinding, then refixed before reuse. For safety valves installed outdoors, appropriate protective measures should be taken to prevent rain, fog, dust, rust, and other contaminants from entering the safety valve and exhaust pipe. When the ambient temperature is too low, necessary anti-freeze measures should also be taken to ensure the reliability of the safety valve's operation.

Compressor Safety Valve

Air compressor safety valves include spring-loaded and lever-operated types. In addition, there are pulse overflow valves, pilot-operated safety valves, safety switching valves, safety relief valves, and dead-weight safety valves. Spring-loaded safety valves are driven by spring force and are divided into sealed and non-sealed types. Generally, sealed valves should be chosen for flammable, explosive, or toxic media, while non-sealed types can be selected for steam or inert gases. There are spring-loaded safety valves with or without a wrench. Lever-operated safety valves primarily work by the weight of the lever, but their large volume often limits their scope of use. When temperatures are high, select safety valves with heat sinks.
