The stationary scroll and orbiting scroll of an oil-free scroll air compressor move in a small radius plane at specific phases. The orbiting scroll engages with the stationary scroll to form several enclosed crescent-shaped compression chambers. Air drawn into the working chamber is gradually compressed by subsequent crescent-shaped compression chambers and then discharged from the outlet at the center of the stationary scroll.
